The Misadventures of OP

After a bit of time out from kite surfing and eating pizza I put on weight and became unfit and decided to do something about it. Problem is motivation and I've tried Gyms before and got bored of it so decided the only way to stick with it is to commit to a challenge that will require me to be as fit as I can be. When I was in Scouts I always liked the idea of the 24 hour national three peaks challenge so I decided that I will attempt it in September 2012.

I bought some new boots and trial running shoes and I started my training in the July of this year (2011) with Jogs around Nicky Nook in Scorton Lancashire, 20 mile bike rides down blackpool sea front and jogs down Fleetwood beach and Stannah by the River Wyre and I began to feel the difference after only two weeks. Then at the end of July I broke my foot which has set me back almost two months. So at the end of this September I started again with a walk around Nicky Nook to break in the new boot and exercise the foot. It now mid October and our weekly training circuit of Nicky Nook has turned into a night time wet muddy trek and need to keep committed through the winter months.

To keep this commitment and as a bit of a training run for September we have now decided to also have a go at the Yorkshire three Peaks in mid April 2012. Also I decided to keep a blog of my training walk so I can see my progress and make sure I do what I need to.
